Mountain biking is not the only thing that goes on in Zell am See & Kaprun - We've so many things to do here, we thought we'd let you know what else there is on offer in this wonderful destination

Kaprun Village is a beautiful place to visit both during Summer & Winter. A traditional Austrian theme runs throughout the village and has a relaxed atmosphere. With the majority of revenue being brought in by ski & snowboard clientel, the summer season sees a far more relaxed atmosphere, with the locals taking even more pride in their environment.

One thing you'll noitice about Kaprun is how clean it is. The roads, paths and gardens are all immaculately kept, hanging baskets with flower arrangements are on show on their balconies & everyone makes that little bit extra effort to make sure you are happy. The weather is most often hot and sunny, but if you choose to come early on in the summer you may experience the odd storm. 

Kaprun has all the basic essentials you need for a holiday - There is the large ADEG super market right in the centre of town, just in case you've forgotten your toothbrush, fancy a snack at lunchtime or want to grab some well earned beers to relax with during the evening. There are numerous bars, restaurants & shops all close by so it's nice & easy to find your way around.

The 'Optimum Centre' is a popular leisure centre in the centre of Kaprun & is a great place to visit in the summer. It's facilities includea large indoor pool, outdoor leisure & play pool (plus small water slide), gymnasium*, sauna, steam room & a huge outdoor relaxation area when the weather is hot & sunny (as it most often is!!) *Extra charge for use of gymnasium*

Sigmund Thunn Gorge

A local place of interest for all holidaymakers is the Sigmund Thunn Gorge, located just 15 minutes walk out of Kaprun's village centre. This breathtaking tourist attraction has a wooden walkway spanning the whole length of the Gorge.

Summer 2010 sees FREE ENTRANCE to the Gorge - Just remember to take your Zell/Kaprun card & camera with you!!

Zell am See

The popular town of Zell am See is located just 10 minutes away by bus, or a slow 30 minute bike ride on a gentle, picturesque biking & walking paths. The famous lake is an absolute must see, and hosts a variety of water sport activities such as water skiing, wakeboarding, scuba diving, windsurfing, rowing, sailing - There's even a banana boat and rings for fun and games! There are various locations doted around the lake where you can sun bath, swim and watch the world go past.

The town of Zell am See is a wonderfully beautiful place to visit with its pedestrianized centre. There are plenty of shops, bars and traditional restaurants to visit, plus a train station, which provides convenient transport to Salzburg, should you wish to visit the historic city. The centre of Zell am See is primarily a traffic-free zone, where you can wonder around at your own leisure.

DONT FORGET - Zell am See has a train station situated towards the bottom end of the town. This can provide convenient access to Salzburg, Kitzbuhel, Krimml Waterfalls and much much more. Prices are reasonable, trains are extremely punctual.
